Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT): How to assess potential candidates and how to optimise treatment.

Friday November 16, 2007

St. Georges Hospital, London , United Kingdom

This one day course is intended for clinicians and echocardiographers who wish to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying failing function in a dilated heart and how this can be used to assess response to CRT.

We will address some of the following questions:

  • Which datasets and images are useful for the evaluation of CRT ?
  • How do strain and strain-rate change with ventricular dilatation ?
  • Why do some hearts rock ?
  • What is a septal flash and when do you see it ?
  • How do we identify filling problems that respond to pacing ?
  • How can we use knowledge on cardiac mechanics for CRT optimisation ?
  • How do we identify potential responders ?

This course has been accredited by the Royal College of Physiscians (4 external clinical credits) and the British Society of Echocardiography (2 re-accreditation credits).

We hope to welcome you in London,

Bart Bijnens, George Sutherland and Lisa Anderson
